Paul Dalio is a New York based writer, director and composer. He received his BA in screenwriting at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and MFA at the NYU graduate filmmaking program where he met his wife and collaborator, Kristina, as well as his professor Spike Lee who became a mentor and executive producer of his debut feature Touched with Fire, inspired by Paul's struggle overcoming bipolar. Paul wrote, directed, scored and edited the film which premiered at SXSW 2015 and was released theatrically by Roadside Attractions in February 2016. It was a New York Times Critic Pick and was extremely well received by the public with a 90% audience approval on Rotten Tomatoes. The film also had a big impact on the bipolar community, receiving the SAMHSA Voice Award, the International Bipolar Foundation Imagine Award, the Didi Hirsch Foundation Erasing the Stigma Leadership Award, the Ryan Sang Bipolar Foundation Shining Star Award and the Yale Mental Health Research Advocacy Award. The soundtrack, which Paul composed and produced, was released by Lakeshore records and was listed in Film Music Magazine's best scores of 2016, where Paul was listed as a composer to watch. Paul and his wife became a filmmaking team under the banner Moonstruck Productions - Kristina was the cinematographer and producer of Touched with Fire, and Paul is co-writer and composer on Kristina's next project, Amphibia, which she will direct. Paul is also writing two projects which he will direct, Revelation and Shaman. They currently live in New York with their two children.
